Citrus Batikanga by Maison Crivelli is a Citrus fragrance for women and men. Citrus Batikanga was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Bertrand Duchaufour. Top notes are Bergamot and Cardamom; middle notes are Chili Pepper, Pomelo and Rhubarb; base notes are Vetiver, Myrrh and Fenugreek.
“In line with its creative approach, Maison Crivelli continues to surprise us. For September 2019, the Maison takes inspiration from an unexpected encounter with a perfume raw material and launches a unique and contrasting
Haute Parfumerie creation. Words, sounds, notes and textures resonate simultaneously, stirring up the senses.
37 degrees in the shade. Citrus fever, cut kalamansi, spicy bergamot. Framework: squeaky teak. Urban jungle, fabric farrago. Ba-ti-kan-ga! Rythmic mélange. Roasted hazelnuts. Squeezed, struck, sliced: bodies alight.
Tasting a freshly squeezed bergamot mixed with chilli inspired Thibaud Crivelli to create a citrusy, spicy and woody accord, providing a totally new approach to this key perfume raw material.
The juicy, effusive and luminous facet of bergamot is balanced with orange and gives way to a hot chilli heart note. This citrusy-spicy duo contrasts with warm notes of myrrh, while the hazelnut facet of vetiver prolongs the rounded aspect of the iconic fruit.” – a note from the brand.
“I used the iconic top note of bergamot in a very original way in this fragrance, as here it becomes the heart of the perfume. My focus is not only on its zesty facets, nor on its floral aspects, but rather on its subtle bitterness and touch of sharpness. This fragrance is structured so as to amplify bergamot. Its bitterness is coupled with pomelo and rhubarb, and then heightened by vetiver and fenugreek base notes. Its fresh sharp touch is facetted by the noticeable presence of cardamom.” – Bertrand Duchaufour.
